Reynal Caracasse

3 questions for Reynald Caracasse

Compensation & Benefits Director, Publicis Groupe

What is your background?

So I started out after graduation in a consulting firm, as an HR consultant, specializing in digital service companies. As time went by, I specialized in the comp & ben function in French SMEs and gradually in companies in the CAC 40, with a French and global scope.

What motivates you the most in this profession?

What I really like about Comp & Ben is that no two days are alike. We can work with several services and departments. We're also key in the organization in terms of strategy. The function is becoming increasingly important in France and that's what interests me.
In the morning, we might work on taxation, and in the afternoon with recruitment, and in the evening with operations, because a new strategy is being deployed or there’s a change in a country.
So that's what I really like, the multiple services and stakeholders, and it's also very topical.

What are your main challenges?

We're preparing for the arrival of the EU pay transparency directive. At present, there is no transposition into French law, but we are studying the various articles and the implications that they could have on us too.

What is your hidden talent?

I'm told I sing very, very badly but that’s not an opinion I share.
