Impossible totalization with France / Quebec / Canada, 2024/10/09

Some French employees on local contracts in Canada and Quebec think that it will be possible to totalize the periods worked in the 3 countries to get a full-rate French pension as soon as possible, since Quebec is part of Canada.

This is a mistake! Quebec is not Canada: the States with which old-age coordination rules can be implemented with Canada under the Social Security Agreement of 03/14/2013 (link: www.cleiss.fr/docs/textes/conv_canada.html ) are mentioned in Appendix 1 at the end of the text.

Quebec is not listed.

For a person who has worked in France, Canada (excluding Quebec) and Quebec, the totalization of insurance periods for the calculation of a pension will therefore not be possible.Better to be warned!
